JAY JAY BANDA NOT FACING EXTRADITION TO ZAMBIA, ZIMBABWE AUTHORITIES SAY.

Emmanuel “Jay Jay” Banda is reportedly not facing extradition to Zambia following his arrest by Zimbabwean authorities on Wednesday.

According to information obtained by Zambian Watch News, Banda was arrested after a Zimbabwean businessman allegedly reported him to police over a financial transaction.

Sources claim the businessman paid Banda in full for an agreed transaction, but that Banda allegedly failed to fulfil his obligation.

Zimbabwean authorities are reportedly treating the matter as a local case, with sources indicating that no formal extradition request has been received from the Zambian government.

Banda is therefore expected to remain in Zimbabwe while the local matter is dealt with.

There are also reports that the former lawmaker could eventually make his way to Italy, amid concerns that his whereabouts have now been exposed.The circumstances surrounding his arrest and his next legal steps remain subject to confirmation from the relevant authorities.
