We are therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and results-driven professionals to fill the following position: REINSURANCE OFFICER Reporting to: Reinsurance Manager JOB PURPOSE To process reinsurance requests and support the Reinsurance Manager in delivering an efficient and effective reinsurance programme for the Company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Secures reinsurance quotations and support from reinsurers within authorised financial limits. Maintains records of correspondence on reinsured business from all participating companies and files documents in the relevant account folders for reference. Prepares credit notes and drafts requests to Accounts for settlement of reinsurance premiums. Collects claim documentation from the Claims Department and forwards it to reinsurers. Prepares debit notes and statements and sends them to reinsurers to facilitate claim recoveries. Compiles data for the preparation of reports and statements as required by the supervisor. Prepares risk profiles for submission to the supervisor to determine treaty capacity levels. Performs any other official duties as assigned by superiors. QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS Grade 12 School Certificate. Diploma in Insurance. Member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance. KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Sound numerical and computational ability to process reinsurance premiums, claim costs and commissions, and to verify statistics. Strong organisational skills to process documentation accurately and ensure timely delivery of reinsurance services. Non-supervisory role with no direct reports. WORK ENVIRONMENT Office-based within ZSIC General Insurance Limited, with frequent interaction with clients and other departments.
