1. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER Role Overview: Oversee the reliability, maintenance, and optimization of plant electrical systems. Key responsibilities include preventive and predictive maintenance planning, fault diagnosis, energy-efficiency initiatives, contractor supervision, equipment commissioning, and supporting automation projects. Requirements: i. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. ii. Valid ERB registration/eligibility and EIZ membership. iii. Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience (steel, mining, cement, or heavy manufacturing preferred). iv. Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, instrumentation, and protection systems. v. Proven skills in troubleshooting, project planning, and leadership. 2. ELECTRICAL SHIFT IN-CHARGE Role Overview: Lead shift-based electrical maintenance activities to ensure safe, continuous, and reliable operations of electrical and automation systems supporting steel production. Requirements: i. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering. ii. Valid ERB registration/eligibility and EIZ membership. iii. Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role. iv. Strong command of electrical distribution systems, MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, and instrumentation. v. Demonstrated emergency response, fault-finding, and decision-making capabilities. vi. Willingness to work rotating shifts (nights, weekends, and public holidays). 3. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN Role Overview: Execute preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production equipment including motors, transformers, switchgear, control panels, cranes, furnaces, rolling mills, pumps, and compressors. Requirements: i. Diploma or Advanced Technician Diploma in Electrical/Power Engineering. ii. Valid ERB registration/eligibility and EIZ membership. iii. Minimum 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience (steel, mining, or heavy manufacturing preferred). iv. Practical experience in motor control, PLC/VFD troubleshooting, and industrial automation. v. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics. 4. MOTOR REWINDER Role Overview: Conduct inspection, rewinding, repair, testing, and maintenance of AC/DC motors, generators, and rotating electrical equipment across the facility. Requirements: i. Craft Certificate, Trade Test Certificate, or Diploma in Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering. ii. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in motor rewinding and repair within heavy industry. iii. Proven experience with LV/HV AC motors, DC motors, and generators. iv. Proficiency in using insulation resistance testers, surge testers, and diagnostic equipment. v. In-depth knowledge of winding diagrams, insulation systems, varnishing, and testing procedures. 5. DRAFTSMAN Role Overview: Prepare and maintain detailed technical 2D/3D CAD drawings, designs, and documentation for mechanical equipment, structural works, and civil construction projects. Key Responsibilities: i. Develop detailed schematics, orthographic drawings, and layout designs using AutoCAD. ii. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and verify material specifications for civil/mechanical works. iii. Coordinate with engineering teams and contractors to resolve design revisions. iv. Ensure drawing compliance with company HSE, ZEMA environmental standards, the Factories Act, and the NAPSA Act. v. Technologist Diploma, Advanced Technician Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. vi. Formal training and proven proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D. vii. Minimum 2 years of relevant drafting experience. viii. Strong attention to detail and command of technical English communication. 6. MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR (SMS MMD) Role Overview: Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily mechanical workshop operations within the Steel Melting Shop Mechanical Maintenance Department (SMS MMD). Oversee fabrication, welding, machining, fitting, and component repairs to support continuous plant operations. Key Responsibilities: i. Operations & Maintenance: Allocate daily work orders, oversee structural/component refurbishment (shafts, housings, pipelines, rollers), and manage urgent plant breakdown repairs. ii. Supervision & Safety: Lead toolbox talks, enforce HSE regulations (JSA, Permit-to-Work, PPE compliance), and mentor junior artisans and apprentices. iii. Quality & Cost Control: Inspect finished works against engineering drawings, optimize material usage, reduce downtime, and drive in-house fabrication initiatives. iv. Grade 12 Certificate plus Diploma or Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or Welding & Fabrication. v. Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in heavy industry (SMS/steel-making experience strongly preferred). vi. Minimum 2 years of direct supervisory experience in a mechanical workshop environment. vii. Strong competency in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, rigging, and engineering drawing interpretation. 7. CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR – DRI PLANT Role Overview: Monitor and control Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant operations via control room automation systems to achieve production and quality targets safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: i. Operate DCS/PLC/SCADA control systems for rotary kilns, coolers, waste heat recovery, and off-gas systems. ii. Monitor process parameters (temperatures, pressures, gas compositions, feed rates) and make realtime adjustments. iii. Coordinate directly with field operators and maintenance teams during standard operations, start-ups, shutdowns, and process alarms. iv. Maintain accurate operational log sheets and shift reports. v. Degree or Diploma in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering. vi. Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Control Room Operator in a DRI plant or metallurgical process plant. vii. Hands-on operational experience with PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Allen-Bradley). viii. Strong analytical skills and practical knowledge of rotary kiln and gas processing operations.
